the engine arrived brand new ,have maked a plan to upgrade it whit forged rottation assembly and a good cam so we can reach the 500 hp maybe a little more.

also did some thinking about the deck and gonna pull it off, much easier for the work on the hull and know for sure it will hold at 80!

Looks like a good project. How heavy do you think you engine and drive will be?
We had an old phantom 21.5 that we put a strait 5 Volkswagen marine diesel in with a surface drive and loads of measurement equipment. Worked really well at speed but was quite to low in the water rest. The old 21.5 was 1.56 meter between the chines.

good to talk to some one who has doen it!
what power deliverd that engine and what brand surface drive you added to it ?
I was also looking at a surface drive but are realy expensive so know using a brand new bravo 1X drive (old style) weights 70kg and the engine I guess would be somewhere around the 230 whit all acc.also build cloosed cooling on it so the drive line is arround the 300 kg mine hull is 1.67 meters
what kind of speed reached yours?

thx bor

The #32 was originally classed in F3, it was a fantastic project within regulation limits back then... It was the fasted F3 boat around... Due to regulation changes it's not in F3 anymore...

I've seen/heard it running last august @ manage. This is a real beast ! 145km/h is genuine, I was told while towing a skier ! The sound it produces is amazing, it's very high revin', should produce +400hp. Fuel consumption of this tuned OMC V8 must be towering high though...

You can see it running on youtube btw :

start 00:30 ; flyby 01:30 ;...

on topic: good luck with your project Bor ! Looks promising !

Greets, T.

I think the combined engine/drive equipment was about 590 kg.
Top speed was just shy of 50mph.

update

So after 2,5 years I picked up the project There was another project coming up but know it's coming together !
I seperate the deck and hull and ripped all wood out,and put it up side down to repair all little damage and repaint the hull .
after that I maked new stringers and a transom from marine plywood and put them in whit epoxy glue and after that laminate them whit 7 layers of glass from side to side starting whit chopped 450 gr/m folowed whit woven 600gr/m and that 3 times .
Then I maked a bulkhead in the front and put in the first floors and laminated them in 3 layers of glass.
After some measurements we discovered that the engine came higher then we want even whit the 2" shorty so looking for options we found the surface which was to expensive ,the next option was the Blackhawk drive where I found 2 of them right here in holland so that's wat we gonna try .
After putting in the cockpit floor I started whit the deck ,maked some reinforcements in the dash and sides and maked the backside closed where normaly the outboard is fitted .
Now it's time to get the hull and deck back together and laminate them together whit 6 layers of glass ,and after that we are now bussy whit making the backside in shape and togehther .

update engine

Today I was at the engine shop to build the close cooling sytem on the engine ,the engine is totally upgraded and stroked to 403 cid whit forged rottation assembly and converted to dry sump .
Hope to dyno it whitin a week or so to see what the power will be ,the guess is 550 hp and 750 nm tq . after the dyno it will be painted to avoid corrosion and mach the rest of the boat .
