My Pleasure II - Record attempt.
My Pleasure II is on standby for a weather window for an attempt on the under 30 foot record for London to Monte-Carlo!! Chris Strickland and Gordon Compton are in the late stages of planning and preperation for this attempt.
"We will have a yellow brick tracker on board so everyone can follow our progress. We hope to complete the run in under 98 hours with aprox 75 hours, running time and 24 hours rest /refueling /eating/sleeping time. Will post again when we know more".
At 2,700 miles - nautical, they are completely mad of course and very brave.
ML.

Any details about the tracker, i.e. a link to it?
Good luck Gordon although I suspect you don't need it.

I've looked at this twice now, and both times there's been a banner ad for stairlifts! Classic!

Best of British to Gordon & Chris, two more stalwart ribsters you couldn't wish to meet!
Drifting the thread slightly, Mike, have you got Satellite tracking sorted for Cowes-Monte Carlo yet? I recall a thread somewhere discussing it & the Yellowbrick guys weighed in.

G C told me there is an unofficial time that Alan Priddy set around 99 hours.
Good luck Gordon and Chris, see you at the start and would love to get to the finish.

Nope, one of those boxes, and there's many of them, that we haven't looked at yet. Have been told that most of these tracker systems still need to iron out bugs so we will look at this later.
If anyone has got suggestions am willing to hear what they have to say.
Back on the original thread, I think that Gordon and Chris are simply amazing, 2,700 miles in a 8.5metre RIB is simply awesome, I wish them the very best although they don't need that. Tough as old boots these two are. Respect!

Gordon will give us 24hrs notice as to when they are going to start their run together with details of how to access his tracker system.
He told me today that they will be running down the Thames, past Ramsgate of course and then round Dover to Dungeness at which point they will start to head directly across the Channel for Brest (France) for re-fuelling before heading directly across a small Bay called Biscay to La Coruna in Northern Spain and onwards.
More info as it becomes available.

Brilliant! I'm sure that this will be another epic adventure - having crewed on that boat for a leg of RB08 I'm sure it's capable of setting a great time as are the crew - looking forward to hearing how long it takes and all of the stories!

Good Luck to Chris & Gordon - another epic !
This must be the smallest boat to attempt such a distance record ?
All the best.

We had our team meeting today with Mike Deacon team Manager
Having studied the weather on route we have moved to GREEN for a start on Thursday.
We will be leaving South Dock (Greenland) at 1200hr.
Our Yellow Brick Tracker should be working and being displayed on www.biboa.com
Thanks for all your support
Gordon & Chris
