Good pics!

'Faberge Turbo' 44, a 4 litre P25 'tandem deck' belonged to Pete & Jan Armstrong, this boat ended up in the Hands of TD and Allan Gorey (86) then went to spain I think. They (Pete & Jan) went on to race class II in a P28, and National Production Class, also in a P28.('Chris' on this forum now owns their N.P.C. P28)

John Clarke/Len Furgeson's 4 litre P25 'clarke group racing' is I think in the west country now (see www.fastboat.info )

And Gina Campbell(daughter of Donald) and Mike Standring's 's 4 litre P25 'Agfa Bluebird' dunno what happened to that.

Can you imagine asking if they'd crane the boat in whilst the crew is on board today! I think not!

Jon

Most definitely a no go being craned in today, I was craned in and out 2 twice over that weekend while in the boat, and from a great height as you can see, some clubs even forbid you sitting in the boat while being launched down the ramp today.

Had to come, I have seen some very serious and fatal accidents over the years.

Good to here that they are still going.

I have a few more that I will post when I have time from the same race, non-Phantoms; lets see if you can tell the owners.

Brings back many memories.... 25 yrs ago you could do alot more than just be in your boat during a launch!

Like taking a trip up Shepperton "High Street " for some fuel..... on a knackerd motorbike ( thinking nobody would notice ) At the age of 14. I am sure " J.F. " can relate to this !!! ( now Jon where "did"
you use that "Thamesmead" buggy i wonder ? )

In the meanwhile, i'll settle for............that AGFA bluebird looks one hell of a sexy bit a kit!

What year was this? I'm guessing at 83-ish, but would like to know.
