Not sure, but 1 of only 3 with diesel/yanmar I suspect.
Is it Maelstrom?

I think there were originally 5 Exteme 26's with diesel engines.

1 - Malestrom
2 - Blue & Yellow - ?
3 - In the Red
4 - Red Mist
5 - Deep Purple

In the Red was damaged in a fire and Deep Purple sunk last year.

Perhaps TD or Chaos could confirm this.

Its maelstrom,

Was orginally laminated by Mike Ring for Tony as Part of the original deal when Tony purchased the moulds and started as Extreme.

I believe JF and Tony raced it for 2 season before they built the sprint boat. At which point JF bought it from Tony and gutted it. Thats why it has the unique dash and companionway. That interior still looks to be the original one that JF put in 12 or so years back.

JF sold the boat to Andy Edwards who swopped the GM diesel for a Yanmar 315 (dont know whether it was a new motor or not at the time).

Its had a few owner since.

Yes, it's 'Maelstrom'. That is a 1995 boat that TD and I raced for 2 years. (moulded 1994, raced '95 & '96, winning National Production Class , then National 'T' class championships)

Then I gutted it (structures were fecked) and rebuilt/rigged it as a pleasure boat, including tooling and fitting an alternative design of dashboard/bulkhead.

I rigged it with a V8 6.5 litre GM turbodiesel of about 220hp and used it for the 1998 season, covering about 2000 miles.

Andy Edwards bought it off me in Oct 1998 and after running it for 1 season (and another 1000 miles), decided he wanted to go faster, so he fitted a new Yanmar 315 in the winter of '99.

He sold in 2000 and upgraded to a Shakespeare 960.

The hull had a pretty hard life in it's first two years. There is some crazing, and some reccuring damage where we tried Mannerfelt speed rails on it, and the scar's have never really healed.

Hope that helps.
