Unhappy Sad lookin cougar!

Was browsing though a few boat sites and stumbled upon this.

http://atlantiqueboats.com/core/list...oat_id=1511444

17 pics in total

Talk about "price reflecting condition". Very sad to see such an awsome boat in such a bad state though. Doesn't look too bad down below but the deck is a complete mess. I dont understand how something so nice can have ben so badly neglected

Would love to see what it looked like back when it was new. Wonder if Steve C is aware of it

Its a battered old POS and how anyone can let a boat like that get in such a state is unreal!

The Khazi has remained in good nick though!

Anyone know the race history of this boat?

I like it, just wondering if there is a hook hiding in there somewhere?

The boat is a Cougar US-1 38 pleasure boat, it came back from the south of France in the mid 90’s and has been sitting in Littlehampton since 1998, it was sold a few months ago and is currently being restored by its new owner, he hopes to have it out on the water next year

another good reason for us to get the Classic Powerboat Owners Club up and running and get the database for all these type of boats together - at least there will be a view on what is out there and what is capable of being saved, there status and a priority list of any assistance that can be made.
Looking forward to the first meeting!

Perhaps a second database to list all these people who are going to save them. Or is OOD going to build a fleet of old tat ?

Here's another that once was a great boat. Raced for three races in it with a chum and then he and it disapeeared until he turned up early this year wanting some help with it. 19 years later! A few pics showing two weeks work.
