I had a good look at that when it was at kemps yard last year.

Not sure of the make but its thin skinned (light) with a modern metalflaked Formula paintjob but its definately not a Formula.

Cabin was kind of old fashioned if i remember rightly.

Isn't that a Wellcraft 26 from the '80's?

Hello everyone and thanks for the assistance in trying to identify my mate Rob's boat which are currently trying to refurbish. I have seen a couple of you about especially Jon in Leviathon in the evenings over the summer. Been reading the forum for a while and finally got some time on my hands to register and post! By the way, love the videos!
Anyway, 'Freebooter'. I may be wrong but the boat you pointed us in the direction of belonging to Tony Toll is a wee bit shorter and is missing a hatch in the cabin. I am pretty sure Rob's boat is just over 30' long and yes it is very thin skinned. It is a bit of a project but we have got the engine running (sounds awsome)and Rob is coming to terms with the costs with boat ownership, his bike is for sale on our club website to help fund the project! He is aiming to get it on the water in the spring/summer of 2007.

A bit more info:
the motor is a Volvo V8 (rebadged GM I think) not sure what size been told it's a 7.4L but we think it's a 5.7L. The leg is a volvo 290 with the exhaust above the prop. The cabin is a mess with some bare woodwork and no cushions at all, does have a sink though and 2 hatches in the foredeck. The cockpit has been completely stripped and all the wiring messed with. The motor has been well looked after and has nice polished rocker covers and 4" straight through exhausts.
Can post better pictures if needed.

'Freebooter' was definitely Tony's 28, I looked at buying it back in the early 90's. It was him who had the Formula style paint job done.

I'm not certain about the the yellow one in the gallery being the same boat, but think it's a pretty good bet that it is.

I've been studying the pics for about half an hour and the boats do look identical, the lines etc. It may be the way they are photographed but they do appear to be different lengths.

Jon, do you know what engine it had in the yellow guise? What did it have in it when you were thinking of buying it? Do you know how old it is?
Sorry about all the questions!

dunno about the yellow one, but Tonys 28 (freebooter) had a small block Chevy 5.7 litre V8, coupled to Volvo 280, or 290.
